ONS reports sharper producer cost pressure from oil and refined petroleum

The ONS reported that UK producer input prices rose 6.1% in the year to August 2026. Crude-oil input prices were 26.7% higher year on year, while output prices for coke and refined petroleum products rose 49.1%; these official producer-price measures indicate cost pressure but are not a direct forecast of any individual haulier’s delivery charge.
