UFP sales rise as freight and lumber costs squeeze quarterly earnings

UFP reported $1.73 billion in third-quarter sales, up 11.1%, while higher freight and lumber costs weighed on earnings. These are group figures covering packaging, retail and construction.
UFP Industries reported third-quarter 2026 sales of $1.73 billion on 28 October, an increase of 11.1% from a year earlier. Organic unit growth contributed four percentage points, acquisitions two and selling prices five.
Net earnings were $58.6 million, compared with $75.5 million a year earlier. Transportation costs increased by $19 million after fuel surcharges and price adjustments. The company also identified higher lumber costs as a pressure on profitability.
The figures cover UFP's packaging, retail and construction businesses together; they are not a measure of pallet-only sales or prices. UFP kept its full-year outlook unchanged and said it was not assuming a meaningful recovery in underlying demand before year-end.
