Wood Pallets for Europe launches in Brussels as pallet sector strengthens EU policy voice

A new Brussels-focused alliance, Wood Pallets for Europe, was announced on 17 September 2026 to give the wooden pallet sector a coordinated, evidence-based voice with EU institutions and policymakers. Founders are CJ Sheeran Group, Euroblock Verpackungsholz GmbH, Foresco, PGS Group, EPAL and Woodpack Global.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority's own statement said closure of the western Suurhoffbrug on the A15, in effect from 5pm on 16 September, is causing serious disruption for road access to the Maasvlakte port area.

The Department for Business and Trade refreshed its monthly building materials and components statistics collection, the official series that tracks UK price and availability indices for construction materials including sawn wood and wood-based panels. ONS reports sharper producer cost pressure from oil and refined petroleum

The ONS reported that UK producer input prices rose 6.1% in the year to August 2026. Crude-oil input prices were 26.7% higher year on year, while output prices for coke and refined petroleum products rose 49.1%; these official producer-price measures indicate cost pressure but are not a direct forecast of any individual haulier’s delivery charge.
