IFCO launches Atlas steel-and-HDPE pooled pallet for North America

IFCO has introduced Atlas, a reusable hybrid pallet combining a hollow steel deck with an HDPE frame, for North American retail, supplier and automated warehouse operations.
IFCO announced Atlas on 8 October. The US-made pallet measures 48 by 40 inches, weighs 58 pounds and provides four-way forklift access. It is intended for food and non-food supply chains, including automated facilities.
Atlas is offered through IFCO's Pallet SmartCycle pooling service. Its components can be replaced, and its steel and HDPE materials are recyclable. IFCO says the pallet supports digital tracking and inventory visibility. The company reports testing to UL 2335, but certification remains pending; the launch does not establish completed certification.
