ECT postpones Rotterdam driver safety-test enforcement to January

Drivers visiting ECT Delta and Euromax will need a successfully completed safety test from 5 January 2027. The terminal operator has postponed enforcement again.
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam has moved enforcement of its mandatory driver safety test to 5 January 2027. The requirement covers access to the ECT Delta and ECT Euromax terminals.
The operator says the delay gives drivers more time to complete the assessment, reduces potential appointment bottlenecks and allows companies to adapt following the introduction of its Truck Capacity Management System. The safety requirement remains in place.
From the new enforcement date, drivers without a valid, successfully completed test will be refused access to the two terminals. ECT urges those still needing the test to book through XS-ID Online or Secure Logistics at Maasvlakte Plaza.
Drivers who have already passed need take no further action for now. ECT says their test validity will be adjusted to the revised enforcement date, with details to follow.
