Viaposte completes high-throughput parcel sorting automation in France

Fives says it completed a new automated parcel-sorting system for Viaposte at Lezennes, France. The installation combines a cross-belt sorter, three induction lines and 210 wooden accumulation chutes, with supplier-reported capacity of up to 6,500 items per hour.
Fives reports that it has completed an automation project for Viaposte, supporting La Poste Group’s last-mile distribution operations at Lezennes in northern France. The system combines a GENI-Belt cross-belt sorter, three GENI-Feed induction lines and 210 wooden accumulation chutes. Fives says each chute can hold about 30 parcels and that the installation can handle up to 6,500 items per hour. These performance figures and reported efficiency benefits are supplier statements. The project is parcel-sortation rather than pallet-handling news, but is relevant as a wider warehouse and logistics automation development.
