CEVA, Zalando and Sereact put AI returns robots into live operations

CEVA, Zalando and Sereact say dual-arm robots have entered live fashion-returns operations at CEVA sites in Germany and Poland, using AI to handle previously unseen items.
The companies announced on 7 October 2026 that Sereact’s AI-powered dual-arm robotic systems are now operating on fashion returns at CEVA Logistics sites in Greven, Germany, and Świebodzin, Poland. Sereact’s Cortex Physical AI platform identifies and grasps unfamiliar items and sorts them without requiring item-specific training or fixed SKU profiles, according to the companies. The deployment is delivered as Robotics-as-a-Service and is described as the first operational milestone in a plan to scale returns automation across Europe. The companies say robots will take repetitive handling while employees focus on supervision, exceptions and quality checks.
