Australia advises exporters on Oman’s new palletisation rule
Australia’s agriculture department says containerised goods arriving in Oman must be stowed on wooden, plastic or metal pallets; non-compliant consignments may be rejected and returned.
Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry issued new market-access advice on 2 October 2026 covering containerised exports to Oman. The department says Omani customs requires goods carried in shipping containers to be palletised: the requirement took effect for land-border arrivals on 15 July and for air- and seaport arrivals on 15 September 2026. Wooden, plastic or metal pallets are accepted; consignments without pallets may be rejected and returned to origin. DAFF says it is seeking clarification from Omani authorities and advises exporters to confirm requirements with importers, as the guidance may change.
