The Alabama Port Authority said the Port of Mobile remained open on 7 October but planned to suspend public-berth vessel operations at noon CDT on 8 October, with terminal operations scheduled to stop at close of business as Tropical Storm Isaias approached.
In an operational update published on 7 October, the Alabama Port Authority said the Port of Mobile was under Port Condition X-RAY and remained open to commercial vessel traffic while storm preparations continued. Based on forecasts and Coast Guard information, Port Condition YANKEE was expected from 8 a.m. CDT on 8 October, with vessel operations at public berths planned to suspend at noon and terminal operations scheduled to stop at close of business. The authority said timings could change and advised customers to contact their terminal operator for cargo, vessel-schedule and facility-access details.
