Norwegian sawlog prices fall again as timber harvest holds steady

Norway’s Agriculture Agency reports falling sawlog prices through the third quarter, while measured timber harvest reached 10.45 million cubic metres, broadly matching the previous year.
September’s average spruce sawlog price was NOK849 per cubic metre, down 3.5% from June. Pine sawlogs averaged NOK666, a 6.2% fall over the same period, according to the agency’s 13 October release.
Measured harvest through the third quarter was 0.14 million cubic metres above the equivalent 2025 total. Pulpwood prices also declined: September averages were NOK435 for spruce and NOK402 for pine.
The figures offer upstream market context for sawmills and wood-packaging buyers. They measure Norwegian roundwood, not finished pallet timber or pallet selling prices, and should not be read as a matching reduction in UK procurement costs.
