ONS sawn-wood import index edges higher in September
The ONS sawn and planed wood import-price series rose to 147.4 in September from 146.8 in August. It is a broad timber indicator, not a pallet-price quotation.
The Office for National Statistics released September figures on 21 October for its C161 wood, sawn and planed import-price series, EZVP, labelled IMPORT NEU. The index, with 2015 equal to 100, increased to 147.4 from 146.8 in August and compared with 144.8 in September 2025.
Calculated from those published index levels, the increases were approximately 0.4% month on month and 1.8% year on year. The third-quarter index was 147.4, compared with 147.7 in the second quarter.
The figures offer timber buyers a broader import-cost reference. They do not measure finished pallet prices, individual timber grades or a particular supplier’s delivered quotation. Chart: Office for National Statistics, Open Government Licence v3.0.
