JNPA says container gate congestion cleared after vessel bunching
JNPA says export-cargo surges accompanying vessel bunching caused temporary queues and slight container-trailer delays on 2–3 October, but traffic returned to normal on 4 October. Its 7 October advisory reported clear terminal gates and an average truck turnaround of 1.47 hours.
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority’s trade advisory says export cargo for more than 15 vessels reached terminal gates in a concentrated period on 2–3 October, temporarily delaying container-trailer entry and exit. JNPA and terminal operators coordinated extra measures with Container Freight Stations and local traffic authorities; the port says movement returned to normal on 4 October. The advisory, dated 6 October and listed by JNPA on 7 October, reports no congestion at terminal gates, a port-wide average truck turnaround of 1.47 hours, and yard occupancy down from 66.89% on 2 October to 52.61% by 6 October. All operational figures are those reported by JNPA.
