Auckland port expects multi-cargo yard to reach full capacity this weekend

The New Zealand port forecasts its multi-cargo container and bulk yard rising from 70% to full capacity, while reporting no significant constraints expected at Fergusson container terminal.
Port of Auckland issued its operational update on 14 October. It expects the multi-cargo container and bulk yard, currently at 70% capacity, to reach full capacity from the weekend as discharges and receivals increase.
Separately, Fergusson container terminal handled 19 vessels and 34,633 TEUs over the previous fortnight. Average yard utilisation was 76%, and the port expects 24 vessel calls over the next fortnight without significant operational constraints.
The figures describe different operating areas, so the multi-cargo forecast should not be presented as a closure or general container-terminal congestion warning. Customers should check the original operating notice before planning collections.
